CLAE Russell, SWEET!
If I can’t find the Creative Recreation’s I published a little while back, I’m definitely getting these CLAE Russell Lichen Ballistic (bottom) as an alternative, laced up the same way! Also, the Russell Pavement Ballistic (top) is looking good for the summer, I need some simplicity in my life and some new kicks. My sneaker has been slacking in the recent months. “The Russell is the thinking man’s mid-top. Its supple leather lining and the cloud-like feel of a custom molded foot-bed will have your feet feeling like they are flying high.” NEED!
Think Print
I got a new font today and I was eager to try it out, so, here it is! It’s Ballpark Weiner from DaFont.com if you’re trying to find it. I’m loving it right now, I think it’ll definitely be useful for future projects. It’s always good to have an arsenal of good fonts to represent your style of design of course.
Sun K. Kwak: Enfolding 280 Hours
March 27–July 5, 2009
Iris and B. Gerald Cantor Gallery, 5th Floor
Korean-born, New York City–based artist Sun K. Kwak is creating a site-specific work composed of approximately three miles of black masking tape in the fifth-floor Iris and B. Gerald Cantor Gallery. The mural-like piece will be affixed to the walls and pillars.
Drawing with masking tape has become her signature form of expression. Kwak continues to challenge perceptions of familiar surroundings with this technique, which for her is both meditative and performative.

PESU ART x GOODWOOD
“Crane” Wooden necklace & “Mo Music, Mo Life Tee”/ “I O ART” Wooden necklace. DOPE! I want that wooden “Crane” necklace.
Let’s start thinking about some wooden Bizy Dreaming necklaces..
Can I Kick It?
Can I Kick It? at SoleFood NYC is looking to be one of the best events of the summer, for me that is, hosted by some of my favorite painters, PESU from Old Soulz and Concep. We missed the official date, but I still want to get out there. You never know! Just being in the atmos and the possibility of meeting these guys are satisfying, and hopefully the sample sale is still going on. PESU ART x GOODWOOD has some cool necklaces, it’s making me think if there can be some Bizy Dreaming accessories as well.
Who’s down for the trip?

Video: Stevie Wonder – All About the Love Again
I might have underestimated or short-changed the entire field of animation. However, no one is to blame but myself. I might have taken a different position if I had an understanding of “creating YOUR OWN style of aesthetic.” One of my problems throughout all of my animation courses was that I felt each animation was suppose to look a specific way. And for those who know me well, Doug and my 8th grade tutor, I have a meticulous nature of making things exactly the way they are seen, so I allot all my time trying to do just that. For those who might be interest in animation, don’t make the mistake I made. DON’T get caught up in technicalities, create your own style of aesthetic, and manage your time properly – create your storyboard, and plan your approach.
All About the Love Again made me think about my attitude towards animation, and maybe I could have gave more effort in my courses, nevertheless, I still managed to pass both animation classes that I took. I doubt it will ever be one of my favorite thigns to do, but I might go back and try to better my skills.

NY Straightforward
Hey all, Keep It Surreal Online is slightly taking a different turn, nothing drastic. We’re just going to shine more light on the design culture, being that I am a young designer, young designers like myself might be more inclined to check it out, want to better their craft, or even get the chance to show off their work. I’m open to all ideas and any mediums of design. Especially if your in the tri-state area, SPEAK UP!
Check out NYSF after you leave here. NYSF is ran by two creatives from NYC, good friends of mine, Maine & Nell. Be on the look out for a Bizy DreamingxNYSF collaboration.

Red’s Friday Podplay
I haven’t created a new playlist in about 2 or 3 months, this being my first since then, and a ill playlist at that! I figured I share my splendor with some of the world. Usually I listen to R&B to put me sleep, but I’ve been listening to this throughout the week, on repeat. I was brought up in the care of a woman, so I’m led to believe, she comes first. This is a playlist the ladies and the fellas can enjoy.

Creative Recreation
Creative Recreation 2 Strap Dicoco
I’ve been wanting these sneakers for the longest, maybe since September/October. You can find them at Urban Outfitters online, but never in this color. HELP!
These sneakers fit into my style of simplicity, one solid color, which can be accessorized with other pieces. Nicole keeps telling me I can’t go out and buy “outfits,” I need to buy things I can accessorize with. I got it now Nicole. LOL. Anyway, these sneakers are definitely on my shopping list, if I can ever find them.

Great song! I love acoustic musiq.
Bizy Dreaming x Montage 2009
You haven’t seen one of these headline’s in awhile, Bizy Dreaming x “you”, or Bizy Dreaming x anyone else for that matter. I gave you an heads up a while back, that I’d be featured in a school publication, a publication, nevertheless. Anyway, it has arrived!!! I didn’t get what I wanted to be published, but I got something worthy of credit, so I’m excited about that. Next year, we are going for something better. I have a 3/4 page on page 18 for digital photography, check me out! This year’s edition of Montage is surprisingly far better than last year’s copy because more artists decided to step up. I have a few extra copies left from the ones I gave out, send me an email and we can work something out. Very limited copies!

Baby Spike
Baby Spike! Ford started calling me Baby Spike as semester began to wind down and started to catch on – Doug, Ryan, Hersch, and I think Nic’. I decided to run with it ’cause Spike is a prominent figure in our culture and I wouldn’t mind my work being praised for its credit. Not only is Spike influential, he’s from Fort Green, in Brooklyn, and owns his own production company. Like that would be a surprise. Like Spike, I would love to have Harris-Williams-owned or related businesses in the future.
Video: Lil’ Wayne Feat. Drake – Every Girl
I always like video more when it’s not just filmed. I feel like the lyrics of the songs can be expressed more creatively, rather than just having a cast and acting out the lyrics. Granted, the dynamics of every song varies and that concept may work, more thought should be put into making a video. This is more than likely the reason rappers and singers turn actors and actresses. The Kanye West video, Goodlife featuring T-Pain is probably one of my top video to watch.

Something Musiq pt.2
Just another variation of the first set I did, or we can even say a more completed version. I decided to add some type to, I guess, convey a message. I love type design, typography. I always here, “make type make meaning,” with that said: what does it mean to you? Or do you even like it?

Surreal: Concep
I’ve been trying NOT to write an article about this picture, for no particular reason, but I’m going to anyway. If you don’t know, I made a post on this artist on my old blog, and ultimately it inspired me to get back into drawing. As a result of the painting, I took a studio art class the following semester.
Long story short, this is my favorite painting. I have the jpg saved to my computer background, as well as my cell phone background. I always enjoy looking at this painting! I’d buy it! Imagine walking into my studio and you see this hanging on one of the walls. Imagine. Anyway, I call visual tranquility. Concep pleases my aesthetic in this painting; he uses a lot of cool vivid colors and some high color-contrasting. Cool!
Check out the old blog article on Concep here.

T: Typophile
I’m understanding my aesthetic in conjunction with self. In photography, I love high contrast photographs, as for design, I love a sleek and clean design, web 2.0 does that perfectly. But, more importantly, I love typography and headlining sans-serif fonts. One of my favorite font-families are Avante Garde or Century Gothic.
Check out Typophile.com if your interested in type. You get an undrstanding of different font types and hear designer opinions on specific topics, or get help and feedback. They also direct you to font foundaries. Check it out!
Something Musiq
Like I said in the previous post, these past two days has been a waste. SAMO $hit. Everyday, it’s the same ol’ shit, which may be contributing to my melancholy disposition. It’s not major; I’m just feeling unproductive and seeing no direction. Today, since class was canceled, I just had to get out the room and do something. This is the result of something, Musiq Soulchild; I got the photo from his myspace musiq page.
I showed the pics to a couple of people before I published the article, Sade said I should send it to him; so I think I’m going to leave the pictures as a comment on his myspace page, he might see it.
Bizy Dreaming x Boston

Bizy Dreaming is planning another move; more promo sample t-shirts. We’re ordering another small load – for sampling purposes. We’ll be ordering in bulk once we get the “okay” from our printer, Ransom Ink. Anyway, let’s save that discussion for another post.
After I finish up some branding materials, such as, business cards, flyers, and stickers for guerrilla marketing (Yup! Guerrilla marketing) and we get more promo shirts, the Bizy Dreaming family is taking a road trip to New England.
I got the insight from Complex Magazine – Bodega, Laced, Relic, and Stel’s Inc. are among the top stores to shop at in Boston.
Who’s rollin’?
Complex West

April/May 2009 issue of Complex Magazine hits the stands 04.07.09, I got mine at Hudson News in Grand Central on Friday, and is probably the best cover issue since last years April/May with Harold & Kumar x Mila Kunis. The “Green Issue,” Ultimate Organic Buyer’s Guide. Anyway, Mr. West takes a new approach to magazine. Beside the genius concept he came-up with, he really doesn’t half-ass anything, Kim Kardashian has an amazing cover photo and did a great job, as well. Kanye called up Noah, Editor-in-Chief at Complex, at 7:50 am on New Year’s weekend, his first week off in nearly a year. He and Noah spoke over an hour critiquing Complex and then into a bigger conversation about the creative movement. Complex, mutually being a part of and the importance that we challenge each other to greatness.
Neo-Contemporary Appeal

Bizy Dreaming is taking on a new font look to keep up with the most recent changes; the logo slightly changed so it makes sense for the typeface to change. I could be wrong, who’s to say I am or am not, but I feel like the entire Bizy Dreaming design is looking more neo-contemporary in each design. Feel free to contest that statement.
I like neo-contemporary!
Near Luxury
Volkswagen CC, MSRP $26,790
A luxury-inspired car with a reasonable price tag, it’s a buyers market. “Volkswagen coined the term ‘near luxury’ for its CC.” Debuting at the 2008 Detroit Auto Show, clearly not a coup, but that’s what Volkswagen is calling it. The CC is based around the existing Passat, sharing platform, drive and much more, but the CC appears lower, sleeker – sportier. Let’s simulate the economy!
Nike Blazer
Nike Blazer Varsity Red Hi Suede Vintage, $110
Suede hi top Nike Blazers with vintage detailing. Worn-in fabric, pilled laces, slightly discolored midsole. Contrast laces, swoosh and panel at back with logo print.
