Roberu “Pray For Japan” Wristband
I really dig wrist accessories – I feel it adds a little extra style to your wardrobe. Japanese leather enthusiasts Roberu have created this basic wristband, with a theme of “Pray For Japan” to help benefit those effected by the earthquake and tsunami that hit parts of Tohoku in Japan. Featuring an oil dyed leather in both brown and black, this adjustable piece is unisex and is available for 500YEN / $6 USD with all proceeds going to the Red Cross.
Help Japan by donating money, time, or even if it’s just extending good vibes. Keep Japan in your prayers at this time.
The Original Hipster x Julia Chesky
The OG Hipster. Picture-perfect representation of a Clean Mess. Because you’re homeless, it doesn’t mean you have to look homeless. That goes for anything. And fuck all those label whores, men and women.
Parson School graduate Julia Chesky presents a fantastic series of photographs, entitled “The Original Hipster”. She shot the series with art director Ali Lee and homeless model Chris.
“Our lovely model, Chris, has lived on Mercer Street for a few decades by choice. I’m calling this series The Original Hipster because on most days he doesn’t even look like he’s truly homeless.“

Brain Food
One thing that’s been a brain teaser for me is perceptions. Doing community service at a community development office I see everyone and everyone is said to have their own style. I think otherwise. Majority follow trends and a few create their own. It’s always easier to walk a paved path. Your style is suppose to be like your two-minute pitch. Boom, they say women know from the first minute of meeting you if they want anything to do with you [and I'm saying that gently]. That last minute you better sell yourself. So why not spend time creating. Otherwise, she might as well be dealing with Gucci or Trey. Not comparing the two. I digress, all she’s getting is a copy.
I can’t stand for anyone telling me what’s cool to say, dress, or act, etc. [I'm not a fan of the over usage of the word wavy now]. I’m doing whatever the fuck I want. I be in outer space, but I got inner peace [beaming]. I move to the rhythm of my own beat, and that’s what alot of people forget to do. Not that there are no flaws with me – that’s just what I’m seeing. The last convo I had with one of my boys, and a interaction I had with a little kid I knew growing had me like, damn. Everybody recognize it eventually. I don’t have a definition for my style, but that’s good. After you label something your stuck to that. Intellect? Nope. I’m not always looking for answers [ignorance is bliss... to an extent]. Graphic Designer? Nah, I do more than that. I just do what I do, you know?
Gimme Gold
The latest from Acapulco Gold is the Disruptive Camo Camp Cap that takes a classic cap on an AG twist. The cap is produced in two colorways– black camouflage and olive camouflage– and both feature the unique AG camo pattern. 100% cotton fabrics are printed with an abstract circular camouflage design, and the camouflage prints are accented by random white and red circles for pops of color. Color coded ventilation holes and adjustable straps complete the cap with Acapulco Gold flag tag on the rear. Currently available at Acapulco Gold stockists and Acapulco Gold online store.

Color Theory: Quick Reference Sheet for Designers
I found this stumbling. This is a great reference to refer to when designing or creating color pallets and I thought I’d share. I think it’d be cool as a large print out in your room, studio, or wherever your workstation is. There are also color picker / color theory programs available for purchase, however I sometimes use plain ‘ole color wheels, which may seem a little archaic, and other times I use Adobe Kuler.

Action Runner
Capture Action steps, relentlessly.
During a brainstorm/meeting or on the run, ideas can come and go unless they are captured as action steps.
Tend to your Backburner.
Keep a “Backburner” to catch ideas that may someday become actions. Whether it is an idea for the future or some small errand you want to remember, put it in the backburner and then forget about it.
The Action Runner was designed by the Behance product team and is based on the Action Method. The front of each page provides a handy template to capture ideas as action steps when you’re on the run. The back of each page features Behance’s dot grid for notations and sketches.
Your Passion is your work, treat it well. The Action Runner’s cover is a unique suede-to-the-touch hard cover. The pages are made of 80lb Premium Blend paper with a subtle texture (30% post-consumer recycled), printed full bleed, and perforated for maximum flexibility.

Elegance at its finest
So every once in awhile you see a shoe that takes your breath away. These shoes resemble elegance and compliment your loftier personality. That’s how I felt when I seen the Burberry Lace up shoe. The shoes are from the 2010 Burberry Prorsum Collection. The dark patent leather with the soft leather really makes this shoe. These shoes are a classy pair and can be worn either suited up or casually. I definitely need these in the lineup
Vans Vault Spring/Summer 2010 Switchback LX
I might have to treat myself to both colorways – y’all know how I love my earth tones.
This Holiday season the Vans Vault Switchback has been a welcome addition and was well received. For Spring/Summer 2010 the sneaker returns in two colorways. One comes in an aged brown leather, the other one in a light brown/dark brown leather colorway, both looking very solid. It’s the perfect sneaker for Spring, up until it gets warmer.

Adrien Donot
Adrien is a graphic designer. I spotted this on Kanye’s blog; I love the composition + the contrasting colors. White x Black x Magenta looks mean on the screen.
Murakami
Collaboration sculpture, created between Kanye West and legendary super-flat artist Takashi Murakami. The piece follows the re-occuring Kanye bear theme, created in a gold sculpture.
DQM x Adidas Vintage Rod Laver
DQM x Adidas Vintage Rod Laver, $80
Price-friendly and easy on the eyes. If that’s a sign of the times, the times aren’t so bad. Featured in Complex Magazine: August/September 2009 issue
Dream Out Loud
I stumbled on this postcard on Laidback. It really made me think about this journey in creating Bizy Dreaming x Keep It Surreal, a life of optimistic comfort, fun, style, and friendships… For those of you who don’t know what we do, Bizy Dreaming is a graphic design group that I’d like to start in the future, and everything else, like Keep It Surreal, falling under that cloud. Keep It Surreal would be the magazine accompanying the lifestyle of Bizy Dreaming.
Although the economic climate is wack right now, you really have to believe that it will be better, that you can be better, and that all things are possible if you just believe.

Perspective Chair x Pharrell
Pharell does work. There is something eerily beautiful about the Perspective Chair. I love the relationship of the male to the female, somewhat sexual in nature, but so much more. Absolutely intelligent design. Pharell Williams is the artist behind this design. He collaborated with Domeau & Pérès to create this chair, another chair and table that will be part of a show in Paris.
Fall Fashion
Tretorn Green Krona Nylon
I’ve been saying everything looks better in brown since I got some brown Ray-Bans this Summer. Now, I feel like carrying the same attitude into the Fall. Like Jay-Z has been doing with all black for a year, I’m going to try to do all brown for the rest of the year. I’ve been poking around some stores of value, you can find these tops @ Uniqlo in Soho, and the canvas shoes from Urban Outfitters (UO).
Keep it Surreal Magazine
If we was ever to have our own publication in the future, I’d come back to the very first design laid out, ever. Regardless of having a thinking design team, I’d go back to the very beginning; when it was just us. Sort of like a tribute to how it all started.
Here is our first cover design in the development stages. I’m going for a Noir themed design. I feel a little skeptical about the headline/logo text. The composition may be kearned to close compromising the space between “Keep and it” and “it and Surreal.”
Ye JUNYA WATANABE COMME des GARCONS
I like the pin-stripes on the vest, very nautical. Correct me if I’m mistaken, but this clothing line is very eclectic-styled, by that I mean, the designer mixes different styles & textures to make it its own. DOPE!
