Video: Let’s Colour Project – Walls Are Dancing

House music everyday is getting more and more popular, and going mainstream with the help of the MTV 2010 VMA’s. Dead Mau5 DJ booth was something I’ve never seen before. I know my boy Nick will appreciate this post for the music, as well as the vibrant colors in the project. In Let’s Colour Project, editing really makes the wall dance to the beat. The music is by Monsieur Monsieur, another source to look up for new music.

What does a “finished” piece mean anyway?

The Hole NYC present ‘Not Quite Open for Business’. Is you roll’n?

The show is not about process-based art or deliberately “unfinished” artworks, it is about getting caught with your pants down and your lipstick smudged and your armpits sweaty because you didn’t have time to take a shower before YOUR FIRST GALLERY SHOW.

Balance

“Balance” wall-hang by Steve Harrington, National Forest

Nice design, I always feel that  Taoism/”yin and yang” correlate with  Cancer’s zodiac sign [69] or the crab.

Video: RISD Senior Narrative inspired by Cudder

Evan Polivy (PolivisionProductions) is a student at the Rhode Island School of Design (RISD) and as part of his groups final project they put together this great “music video narrative” that was inspired by Cudi’s debut album “Man on the Moon: The End of Day”. Here’s what he had to say:

The video is a collaborative senior thesis project between Matt Cavallaro, Christin Neal, and myself (all students at The Rhode Island School of Design – we graduate in 2 weeks). We felt a strong connection to Cudi’s music and wrote a story based on the narrative Cudi tells in Man on the Moon: The End of Day. We call it a “music video narrative,” because it’s partially a music video and partially a narrative short film. It’s about a troubled teenager who uses music to escape into his own space fantasy where he finds the girl of his dreams.

Church Ave.

I went to Stella’s Bar & Restaurant in the city to watch the game. Good beer and good eats, great combo. I wish I would have taken a picture. However, that’s not what I wanted to discuss. The mosaic murals on Church avenue are just example of great art throughout the city. In a melting pot like New York City, I’m glad you can find a little culture outside of the hustle and bustle. I’m always looking for culture – this is home.

Stop’n Traffic

How powerful are books? Well they can apparently stop traffic if there’s enough of them. The clever folks at Luzinterruptus, put together temporary light-infused guerrilla art installations that are surreal and create a lovely scene in Brooklyn that I wish I could’ve encountered in person. More pictures and information about the piece can be found HERE.

Alright Gucci

DJ JAYCEEOH PRRESENTS: AVANT-GUCCI  threw me so off when I spotted it. It’s a completely different mixtape cover I expected to see – from anybody. The cover took me back to Design History, I was thinking it could have been inspired by the cubist movement or African art. Anyway, the design is fitting and it kinda looks like Gucci, haha. It also reminded me of some African masks I was looking at a couple days ago..

Check it out after the jump.
