Happy New Year!
On behalf of Keep it Surreal, happy new year! I hope this year brought you everything you wanted. And whenever a challenge presents itself in this year 2011, embrace it with my new favorite phrase:
“Nothing ventured, nothing gained.”
This remix is going to be my anthem for the New Year. Enjoy.
News: World Basketball Festival
Tradition. Love. Innovation.
Converse. Jordan Brand. Nike.
Three brands, three themes, colliding in a massive celebration of the game that’s fueled them all – basketball.
Last week in New York, Nike announced the “World Basketball Festival” (“WBF”), a three day blowout set for August 12-15 in New York City. Three pivotal locations are tapped for events – Madison Square Garden, Times Square, and Rucker Park.
Tidbits of my life
I have a pretty chaotic group of friends. That being said, I love them all. I consider myself lucky to live with people I generally get along with and can call my friends, because we’ve all heard those college stories of the roommate from hell.
Nick’s (one of my roommates) fish dies, so he opted for a proper burial, A.K.A. the toilet, and I decided to film it. This is the what I was able to chronicle.
And this is the aftermath.
Family Guy is conspiring against me
Okay, not really. But I found this hilarious clip from Family Guy and I thought I ought to share with you guys…
I can’t embed Hulu videos on WordPress? What a pain.
Branching Creativity
A very warm hello to my new audience. My name’s Jeff Meda, and I’ve been honored to have been invited to write Keep It Surreal. I’m a junior Interactive Digital Design major like Goldie, and enjoy exploring and contributing to the art world. I’m going to be writing about the interests that I pursue, such as popular media, technology, art, etc. Hope you guys enjoy the ride and spread the word.
Get to know me better:
Fly on the Wall
Swedish photographer Magnus Muhr seems to have a lot of fun with insects, especially flies. He makes some quite funny compositions with dead flies and draws around to create some funny pictures.
Vote for Art
President and founder Jeremy Parker of Vote For Art, a new startup backed by the large apparel company David Peyser Sportswear have partnered with Purdue University to launch their first major contest of ‘Create the new Purdue basketball t-shirt.’
The winners’ artwork will be printed on t-shirts and sold at the University bookstore. (Winning designers will earn $500 and 2% of t-shirt sales). All artists no matter where they are from and what school they go to can submit designs into the contest. Check out the website for more information.
Lucky
Brilliant stop motion music video, animated entirely with glow sticks by Darcy Predergast, an animation company in Melbourne, Australia. More stop motion cartoons with a twisted sense of humor are also a must see.

Pride in Pin Stripes
Derek Jeter has tied the New York Yankees record for hits held by Lou Gehrig. Jeter singled in the seventh inning for his third hit Wednesday night against Tampa Bay, matching Gehrig with 2,721 hits in a Yankees uniform.
Sometime this week, Derek Jeter will break Lou Gehrig’s record for all time hits as a Yankee.
When Jeter does so, he will have accomplished the feat at the New Yankee Stadium–and it will be the first historic Yankee moment unrelated to the Stadium itself to occur there.
Entourage Season 6
I missed the first episode of season six because I was coming back from the beach on Sunday. Ugh, fml! I was hoping to catch the re-run on Monday @7pm, but no luck. Monday’s episode was from Season 4, I believe. Anyway, catch Entourage on Sunday’s at 10:30

THE GREEN GENERATION
Earth Day 2009, April 22, will mark the beginning of the Green Generation Campaign! This two-year initiative will culminate with the 40th anniversary of Earth Day in 2010. With negotiations for a new global climate agreement coming up in December, Earth Day 2009 must be a day of action and civic participation, to defend the Green Generation’s core principles: Family with windmills: Renewable energy for future generations.
- A carbon-free future based on renewable energy that will end our common dependency on fossil fuels, including coal.
- An individual’s commitment to responsible, sustainable consumption.
- Creation of a new green economy that lifts people out of poverty by creating millions of quality green jobs and transforms the global education system into a green one.

Facebook Virus
A social networking virus that’s been around for months is getting slicker.
The latest version of the “Koobface” worm sends an alleged message from a Facebook friend asking you to click on a link to a video. If you click, you see a page with a photo of your friend and are asked to download a player to watch the video. Do it, and you’ve got the virus — and someone else now has access to your computer.
The page that the link leads to. on the face of it is a very familiar looking spoofed version of YouTube, complete with bogus comments from “viewers”.
Video: Kids Do The Darndest Things pt. 2
Here it is! This kid is too funny. If your having a long week or bad day, enjoy.
Happy Wednesday, all.
Video: Kids Do The Darndest Things
Kids Say The Darndest Things, as I know it, since Bill Cosby hosted, was an understatement to the things I see on the internet. Kids imagination and innocence are being published via free social media, á la MySpace, Facebook, Vimeo, and the ever-popular Youtube. Anyway, to no longer bore you with words, these video’s are hilarious.
Happy Wednesday!!!
Check in with me later today to sneak a part two.
Video: Drinking Out of Cups
Too funny! Also, you can credit the authors for the animation, that illustrates the voice-over. I am taking 3D and have taken 2D animation, and this is a pretty good animation, better than some animations I’ve done, however, I’m not saying I’m any better or worse at it. Enjoy!

Valentine’s Day Rose

Rose takes the Skills Challenge at All Star weekend in Phoenix, easily! (Like he was suppose to). He’s going to be one of the best point guards in the league, God willing. Congrats D. Rose – The Return of 23!
