NOIR

(Click the picture above to download and make your day better.)

Erick “Arc” Elliott presents “Noir.”  In the midst of a game full of  ’rappers’ who are more concerned with singing their verses or convincing us all that they are an alien from another planet, it’s refreshing to sit down and hear a tape full of nothing short of straight forward, heart felt, authentic rap.  No gimmicks, no nonsense-just the voice of a hungry, 21 year old, MC from Flatbush Brooklyn relating his day to day to the listener over some beautiful original production from The Remedy + (!!) and Flash Frequency Music.

Personally, I love this composition! Download to see what I’m talking about. Make me happy knowing you made a good choice, haha.

I finally took the time to finish creating the artwork for our “Dailysessions.” Good Feel Musiq is a project started by my boy Jay at SomethingBrandNew, and I hopped on with him. Hope you enjoi this new feature to the blog.

The session for today is the Brown Sugar soundtrack. If you really love good musiq and enjoy a good film dedicated to Hip Hop, definitely, check out Brown Sugar. Enemy of the State: A Love Story

What a great way to start off your Thanksgiving, and make it that much more memorable with the anticipated release of Lupe Fiasco’s new mixtape titled Enemy Of The State: A Love Story! The one track cassette style mixtape has a rock influence, and a more aggressive Lupe Fiasco flow. Happy Thanksgiving everyone! Give thanks for the unreasonable happiness that is your life, and for all the people and things that make it so damn interesting.

Also as a special bonus, Lu’ is dropping another mixtape called Friend of the People on Christmas.

The Noisettes x Kanye West = “Wild Young Heartbreaks”

wild-young-heartbreak-FRONT_5101

What do you get when you cross The Noisettes with Kanye West ? Wild Young Heartbreaks, of course, a sick mix which mashes up the acapellas from the UK rockers album Wild Young Hearts with the samples, and ideas from Ye’s 808s and Heartbreak remade into new beats.

810 Musik

810_Glass_halfFull

810 is a mellow chilled back type of guy, but no slump when it comes to the mic. 20 years old from Baltimore, MD, 810 started rapping at the age of 11, only to hone his skills in high school, where he went to say, “I would often try to impress people with my talent. I started to gain more confidence when people would pull me off to the side like ‘yo you can actually spit’.” 810 has a polished flow along with metaphoric wordplay bound to command the attention and groove of new listeners.

He’s working on a New Tape Called “Glass Half Full” due out in November 12th.

Red’s Friday Podplay

after_dark_podplay

I haven’t created a new playlist in about 2 or 3 months, this being my first since then, and a ill playlist at that! I figured I share my splendor with some of the world. Usually I listen to R&B to put me sleep, but I’ve been listening to this throughout the week, on repeat. I was brought up in the care of a woman, so I’m led to believe, she comes first. This is a playlist the ladies and the fellas can enjoy.

  1. Musiq – Millionaire
  2. John Legend – Cross That Line
  3. Anthony Hamilton – Cool
  4. Musiq – Moneyright
  5. John Legend – Refuge (When It’s Cold Outside)
  6. Trey Songz – Love Safari
  7. Erykah Badu – Honey
  8. Anthony Hamilton – Chyna Black
  9. Lyfe Jennings – Midnight Train
  10. Musiq – Makeyouhappy
  11. Ryan Leslie – I-R-I-N-A
  12. Trey Songz – I Need A Girl
  13. Musiq – B.U.D.D.Y.
  14. Common – Faithful
  15. Lyfe Jennings – Cops Up

Video: Trey Songz – I Need A Girl

New Trey Songz, I Need A Girl. Ill R&B tune, definitely on the Podplay!

Jack Johnson

jack-johnson-sleep-through-the-static-front

I’ve recently become a fan of Jack Johnson and acoustic musiq, it’s different, however, very relaxing. It brings me where I need to be when I just want to wind down and kick it. On this particular album, my favorite song is Monsoon.

P.S.
I’ve always loved the overall design of this album.

Video: Knock You Down

Kanye and Keri? I’ll leave it there before I start any rumors, but the vibe of the video is just homey. I don’t know if it’s in the right context, but it feels like everyone has had familiar moments. Anyway, Kanye and Keri have great chemistry in the video.

Keri’s looking great in the video, displaying her unique style. I have this incling that she has this tough demeanor, because of the short hair and gloves, for show, but she’s really soft. ‘Tanya knows what I’m talking about, my notion is: Keri loves hard and falls hard. ‘Ye shows his relation with artist and designers, and shows off the black Air Yeezy’s. Red top and blue jeans, simplicity, I’m diggin’ it, but I’m not that much a fan of the Air Yeezy’s.

Is that Ryan Leslie in the Red pants at 2:46-47?

el fin.

Video: All Of The Above

Maino Feat. T-Pain – All Of The Above

Off If Tomorrow Comes – great motivational, I dig it!
