Creative Device for Paralyzed Artists
We have all heard tales of paralyzed or partially paralyzed artists and creative minds who continue to produce provocative work with toes or limited physical capabilities as best as they can. The EyeWriter is a low-cost device which includes a DIY hardware and free software that allows artists to draw with their eyes. The EyeWriter has been created by GRL and the FAT Lab in collaboration with graffiti writer and ALS sufferer, Tempt One.

The basketball court definitely was sanctuary. Out of all the times I got in trouble growing, somehow, on the basketball court I always seem to be doing something right. If not I could make up for it, I didn’t get yelled at. I started at my school’s in-house tournament, T.J.B.A. After that I was caught up, I didn’t want to leave the gym, I would go from one practice to the next. My mom would be calling my cell and I refused to pick up cause I wasn’t ready. Then watching the Dunkers Delight games at Wingate, even the pick up games. Those were the days man. The video was filmed and directed by Sid Ashford.
Pod Play: Red Cafe – Heart & Soul Of New York City
Brooklyn! WE DID IT… That’s how I feel when I hear a song like this from a Brooklyn artist. Jay was killing them with Empire State of Mind, and Red Cafe gives you Heart & Soul of New York City. Dunkers Delight in Wingate, what’s good? K1X added visuals to the Pete Rock produced song. Lyrics aside, I feel this way about anybody with a grind hard, keep grinding mentality coming out of Brooklyn. New York City, keep doing it!
No Tippin’ Pippen Hall of Fame
We’re Chicago Bulls fans over here, we had to make this announcement. August 13th, Scottie Pippen was inducted into the sacred NBA Hall of Fame. The former 5th round pick from Central Arkansas made a name for himself as one of the best small forwards of all time. While the teammate that will induct him usually got most of the attention on court and on foot, Pip was one of the all time greats at both with a decorated hardwood resume and one of the best signature Nike lines. On the court he brought home 6 Championships, 7 All Star Appearances, 8 All NBA Teams, 8 All NBA Defensive Teams, and 2 Gold Medals.

So basically globally warming causes polar ice caps to melt due to greenhouse gases. Blu’s mural indicates that like sand in an hour glass, time is running out. Beyond that, he sums up global warming and it’s effects.
Nike Write The Future x (RED) – End AIDS

This is not an unfamiliar campaign, and it is not a difficult one either. For a while now, Nike has partnered up with (RED) and Starks to create charity (Nike)RED laces where its proceeds will be donated to The Global Fund to Fight AIDS. AIDS used to be a death sentence, but with advances in medical technology and pharmacology, AIDS is no longer an early expiration date tagged on people, and one of the latest AIDS survivor passed away at the ripe old age of 80. At only 40 cents and two pills a day, lives can be easily saved. However, as many people in Africa continue to live in poverty, millions are unable to afford the medication they need to survive. To drive the point that it is as easy as lacing up to save lives home, (RED) has teamed up with Nike Football’s Write The Future campaign to create a new End AIDS video.

Brain Food
One thing that’s been a brain teaser for me is perceptions. Doing community service at a community development office I see everyone and everyone is said to have their own style. I think otherwise. Majority follow trends and a few create their own. It’s always easier to walk a paved path. Your style is suppose to be like your two-minute pitch. Boom, they say women know from the first minute of meeting you if they want anything to do with you [and I'm saying that gently]. That last minute you better sell yourself. So why not spend time creating. Otherwise, she might as well be dealing with Gucci or Trey. Not comparing the two. I digress, all she’s getting is a copy.
I can’t stand for anyone telling me what’s cool to say, dress, or act, etc. [I'm not a fan of the over usage of the word wavy now]. I’m doing whatever the fuck I want. I be in outer space, but I got inner peace [beaming]. I move to the rhythm of my own beat, and that’s what alot of people forget to do. Not that there are no flaws with me – that’s just what I’m seeing. The last convo I had with one of my boys, and a interaction I had with a little kid I knew growing had me like, damn. Everybody recognize it eventually. I don’t have a definition for my style, but that’s good. After you label something your stuck to that. Intellect? Nope. I’m not always looking for answers [ignorance is bliss... to an extent]. Graphic Designer? Nah, I do more than that. I just do what I do, you know?
